Recognize common scam warning signs
Watch for urgent gift-card requests, demands for passwords, suspicious payment links, and unexpected requests to install AnyDesk, TeamViewer or other remote-access tools. These tools have legitimate uses, but unexpected access requests deserve caution.

How can I check if a text message or email is a scam?
Copy the suspicious message into Stop Scam Now, answer whether you know the sender, and review the warning and next steps. Do not click links, send money, or share passwords while you are unsure. No scam checker can identify every scam.
Is Stop Scam Now designed for older adults?
Yes. Stop Scam Now uses large, readable text, high-contrast warnings and plain-language instructions. You can choose larger text and review each warning at your own pace.
Does StopScamNow use AI to detect scams?
Local scam checks use warning-sign rules, not a trained AI scam-detection model. Image text reading and manual photo warnings run in your browser without paid AI image requests. Photos are not automatically checked for people or nudity. No OpenAI or cloud translation is used. StopScamNow cannot verify identity or detect or prevent every scam.
What are common warning signs of a phone scam?
Watch for pressure to act immediately, requests for gift cards or passwords, and unexpected requests to install remote-access tools such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer. Requests for your IP address are also flagged for caution. These tools and requests can have legitimate uses, so context matters.
Can Stop Scam Now block scammers or guarantee that a message is safe?
No. It checks information you choose to provide and helps identify warning signs. It does not automatically monitor your phone or email, block callers, prevent fraud, or guarantee safety. Verify important requests using a trusted phone number.
How much does Stop Scam Now cost, and can I cancel?
The first 24 hours after creating an account are free, with no card required and no automatic charge. If you choose to subscribe, the plan is $25 USD per month, plus applicable taxes and fees, recurring until canceled. Cancel anytime from Account & billing. No prorated refunds except as required by law.

How to check a suspicious text message
Do not open the message's links or reply with a security code. Copy its words into the checker and look for urgent payment demands, impersonation or requests for personal information. If it claims to be from your bank or a delivery company, use the official app or a phone number you already trust.
How to check a suspicious email
Pause before opening attachments, signing in or paying an invoice. Check the sender's full email address, not just the display name. Review the email's words for warning signs, then confirm any money or account request through a separate, trusted contact method.
How to check a screenshot or call transcript
Choose a screenshot to read its text in your browser, or type what the caller said. Review the extracted words for accuracy. Use on-device choices to flag people or intimate photos without uploading them or using paid AI. This does not automatically recognize people or nudity. No image or text check can verify identity or prove a link is safe.
A warning-sign check is not proof of safety. Read how your scam-check data is handled or compare the free trial and monthly plan.
Scam detection and fraud awareness for everyone
Developed by Hodge Innovations LLC, StopScamNow helps seniors, families, and everyday consumers recognize potential scams before sharing sensitive information or sending money.
Look for urgent payment demands, gift card requests, impersonation attempts, threats, and other suspicious language in messages, emails, screenshots, and call transcripts.
Our mission
Our mission is to make scam awareness and fraud prevention education accessible through timely warnings, plain-language guidance, and easy-to-use tools.
How the technology helps
Scam checks use warning-sign rules on your device without OpenAI or cloud translation. Image text reading and manual photo warnings stay on your device without paid AI requests. Call transcription may use your browser's online speech service.
StopScamNow assists with identifying potential scams. It does not guarantee detection or prevention of fraudulent activity.

Scams cost families billions. A short pause can help.
Consumer Federation of America estimates of losses in 2025, published July 28, 2026: $148.2 billion in online scams and crimes, adjusted for underreporting, compared with approximately $20.9 billion reported to FBI IC3 for 2025. CFA estimates $1,009 per U.S. household nationally, not an individual loss or promised savings.
CFA cites an average loss of $38,500 per reported incident among adults 60 and older and an estimated $80.7 billion in cryptocurrency-related losses. California, Texas, Florida and New York have the greatest projected total losses. Its methodology applies a 7.1× multiplier based on research suggesting about 14% of financial fraud victims report to law enforcement.
StopScamNow costs $25 USD per month plus applicable taxes and fees. Checking warning signs before responding or paying may help avoid a costly mistake. A subscription does not guarantee prevention, recovery or savings and is not insurance.
